What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 15

How would you and I have comprehended what Jesus told Nicodemus?  Nicodemus had been  raised thinking nothing was as important as the ancestry of Abraham.  All his waking hours  this had ever been before him.  He had known nothing  much of the Spirit world.  All his religious up-bringing  had done nothing to allow him to comprehend spiritual things.  When he came to Jesus that night he was stepping way out of the box just to come. If he were sent, we know not from whom; if he came of his own volition, we will consider he was more honest than the others with whom he had had daily fellowship, or if he just passed by where Jesus was (no doubt he thought he knew where Jesus was staying) and if he found Him, he had a prepared, opening speech, planned.  Jesus had to be considered the outsider, the enemy, perhaps even to Nicodemus, but Nicodemus, a worthy of Israel, had to at least find out if all he had heard about Christ was founded in truth.  Sometimes curiosity is an extremely forceful driving thing!!

As if Jesus interrupted his planned opening, Nicodemus must have been dumbfounded  by their discussion.  Thinking as a Jew, Nicodemus might have even known there was much to question in exactly WHO Jesus earthly father was.  You can be sure the stories about Joseph and Mary had had much play among the sophisticates of his day.  But Nicodemus came throwing himself before Jesus, giving Him the benefit of all the stories, all the guesses, and all the lies he had heard!  Question, did he know  or did he believe Jesus was the promised Messiah?

Nicodemus would have had to have been a religious historian to understand WHY Jesus, not John the baptist came working miracles.  They both taught the same gospel, yet only one of them worked miracles!  WHY?  Every time God created something new that had could not been comprehended by mankind, He began it with miracles-the creation-the Law of Moses-and now the Church of Christ!!  The creation the heavens and the earth were physical, the Law of Moses was physical, that was the only realm in which man thought!!   It seems to make sense that Jesus interrupted Nicodemus “warm up” speech out of respect, not indifference.  He was going to make it easy of Nicodemus and get to what Nicodemus really wanted-even though he did not know exactly what it was!!  What messed Nicodemus up worse was when you have your mind made up as to how the  answer must be to your own question- when the answer that is given is completely out of that realm and beyond your ability to consider, even to reason about, if you could have been comfortable in a conversation, you would be thrown at a loss.

You know how sometimes when you have been waiting for so long for someone, anyone to get the answer you have been preparing for so long, you jump in in front of them and give it, anyway?  It was not that Jesus was over anxious, it was that this was to be the greatest work God would ever perform for His greatest creation and the answer could not wait a second longer!!  Ever since Christ had created Adam and Eve, according to the “mystery of the ages” given Him by God, the Father, the reason for creating man had been in doubt.  Why man?  Putting an over-balanced spiritual make-up in a physical being just would not make sense to anyone who could have reasoned on God’s level!  2/3’s of the make-up of all human beings was spiritual, but they were put in a physical world.  Was God going to come down to this physical place and dwell among man or was physical man one day change in a fashion not understood but alluded and have man to come to a place where this same human specimen could live with God?  What did not help was that God had created spiritual servants, called angels, for this physical creation!  Also, these spiritual servants were created BEFORE they whom they would serve!!  Again, you must question, why man?  Then, God put this physical man and woman in a physical Garden where everything in the garden was what would serve the pleasure and appetites of spiritual beings, not physical!  God put in the Garden a “tree of life” when He had never intended for man to live eternally in this human clay.  He put in another tree that showed choice before man ever HAD such a thing given him by God.  Finally, God had introduced Adam and Eve to plants and animals who had  metamorphosis as a pattern.  Did Adam and Eve understand metamorphosis?  Probably no more than they understood why the “tree of life” or the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” were there, but then again, all these things were there whether they understood them or not, were they not?!!

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 14

If the “original” sin was committed by Adam and all who came after him “inherited” that sin, as all denominationalist believe, how could one be BORN AGAIN?  The Greek for these words are very revealing, they are anothen gennao.   Anothen (again) is an adverb of place or time, the word is broken up into two parts (ano)-above, and (-then), denoting from the beginning, anew, as before (Galatians 4:9. John 3:7).  It is used in  John 3:31-”from above”.  Again in John 19:11; James 1:17. and James 3:15-17.  In the conversation with Nicodemus it tells “WHEN” AND WHERE A PERSON AGAIN BORN!!.  WHY OR HOW would one be “born again” when God had already predetermined their destiny, it would be useless!!  In 1 John 3:9; 2:29; 4:7; and 5:1,4,18. John is referring to this type birth!  This birth is FROM GOD, not from man; it came from above, not from a physical man on the earth; and was NOW being mentioned, not offered, to Nicodemus, for as yet no sacrifice had been offered to allow this mighty work, not even the baptism Jesus offered though His own disciples! John 4:1-2

Nicodemus was a now a Jew in shock.  Like Job, he began to defy, deny, and declare impossible what Christ was revealing.  THIS JUST COULD NOT BE!!  Being a ruler of the most religious people on the earth, birth records to them had been the most precious possession!  They guarded their ancestry with their life.  The Jews determined their situation and status by their being able to trace their birth ancestry back to Abraham.  There was a group among them who had positive proof of their ancestry and were called the PHARISEES OF THE PHARISEES.   In the return from Babylon, every Jew checked, traced, corroborated, their ancestry.  This was the biggest movement of their day!!  To them and their religion, their birth was EVERYTHING.  Every Jewish male was added to the ancestral role when circumcised on the eighth day.  They forfeited their land possession if their ancestry was not in check.  To be told one had to be “born again” put Nicodemus head in a spin, his faith in doubt, and his precious land, promised him by God to Abraham, at risk.  Immediately, Nicodemus was beside himself.

From whence was the baptism of John, the Baptist?  Jesus commandingly informed Nicodemus that this new type of birth was a prerequisite to “entering the kingdom of Heaven”!!  This was even MORE disturbing to him.  Had not John’s baptism been offered to all who wished to enter that Kingdom?  Assume Nicodemus had already been baptized of John the Baptist and see where this would put Nicodemus!!  You mean John’s baptism WOULD NOT put you into the Kingdom of Heaven??  WHAT GOOD WAS JOHN’S BAPTISM?  If the baptism “from above” put you somewhere John’s baptism could not put you, what was John doing??  Baptist baptism today, claims this doctrine.  They teach their baptism WILL NOT AND DOES NOT PUT YOU IN THE KINGDOM, you are sure you saved BEFORE you are baptized and have to testify of your salvation.  Your testimony is then voted on and if accepted your baptism is arranged. You are already saved, they teach, and their baptism only puts you in the Baptist Church, definitely not the Kingdom of Heaven!!   Some of our brethren want Baptist baptism to be treated as equal to the baptism of Christ for the remission of sin!! Acts 2:38   Something that would not put you into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son!! Colossians 1:13, THEN OR NOW will not put you in touch with the blood of Christ and is NOT God’s plan to save!!  You mean John’s baptism was not equal to the baptism “from above,” yet many of our brethren teach and transfer those baptized after their salvation experience (as they call it) in the Baptist denomination into the Body of Christ??  Have I missed the verse that teaches John’s baptism was “from above”?!!

The verb “be born again” is from the Greek word gennethe- to be begotten, to be born, used of men to describe a begetting.  Used allegorically, Galatians 4:24-26; of conception, Matthew 1:20; or the act of God in the birth of Jesus (Jesus was NOT said to be the son of God at His physical birth from the womb of Mary, He was called Son of God when resurrected from the grave) Acts 13:30-34; Hebrews 1:5; 5:5; Psalms 2:7  There are two Greek words for son, huios and teknon.  Huios is reserved for the Son of God.  It signifies relationship, not birth.  Christians are named tekna Theou always,  huios gives evidence of the dignity of one’s relationship, equality, and sameness.  Jesus was telling Nicodemus that there was a birth that was soon coming of which man had never been invited!!  The sacrifice offered “from the foundations of the world” was soon to be made.  It was TIME. Galatians  4:4

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 13

If a child who dies before birth, during birth, or after birth before it reaches accountability, it may die never having been baptized in any fashion, will that child be damned to eternal Hell?  Does that infant not share  the same essence (make-up, of the same kind, pattern) as God?  Does it not have a soul and spirit?  If it shares the essence of God, is it not the same in that essence as God?  If God is eternal, is not the soul and spirit of that newly born child, eternal?  When children die(d) who were never born, were born but never reached accountability (the power to choose with understanding of the consequence) where does their soul and spirit go after death?  Ecclesiastes 12:7 tells us the soul (synetoche- a part standing for the whole) “goes back to God who gave it.”   They CANNOT go to where those of us who have sinned would go-we have been separated from the fellowship of God by sinning, they have NEVER sinned. Isaiah 59:1-2  There must be another place prepared for the sinless dead to go.   It is a place called Paradise in the third heaven. 2 Corinthians 12:1-4   What is that place?  It is the place of the sinless soul and spirit awaiting the return of our glorious Lord who will resurrect our physical body changing that body (which is the seed of the new body)into a glorious body. 1 Corinthians 15:35-56  Paul writes by inspiration of the Holy Spirit: “For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.” Ephesians 3:14    Again: “That in the dispensation of the fulness times He might gather together in one all things in Christ both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him.” Ephesians 1:10   This “gathering together” was the “eternal purpose which He had in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Ephesians 3:11    So, when “the Lord added to the church daily, those that were being saved,”Acts 2:47,  we know to what He was adding they who were in the process of repenting and being baptized for the remission of sins.  This church that existed before time, married to Christ before time, existed!! and was first made known to man in the ceremony of Adam and Eve in the Garden.  Christ Himself having been married “from the foundations of the world,” we see in His ceremony shown in Adam and Eve. Telling of that great salvation that existed before time, God was prophesying that He would bring to us who exist during time that we would continue after time ceases to be!! Revelation 13:3;Acts 20:28;Ephesians 1:4; 5:24-32; Genesis 2:22-24; 2 Peter 1:11 (Time being defined as that period existing between two eternities, made by God so we who by faith obey Him, can prove our worthiness.)  This gives new credence to the statement made by Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane–”that they (the world-the church) may be one; as Thou Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world (church) may believe (aorist subjunctive case-a single incident-not continuous about which there is some doubt about the future).  It was NOT dependent on the world of mankind to believe, it was the church which MUST BELIEVE-<obey in a single defined action>-as the subjunctive case in the Greek language demands).  It is the church which is said to “believe and be baptized to be saved”) that Thou hast sent Me.” John 17:21   This place called Paradise in the third heaven was the “I go to prepare a place for you; where I go you cannot come” of John 14: 3.  Here also, is given another appellation-”in My Father’s house.”  Heaven will not be empty my friend; all the billions and billions of  innocents who were never known to be, never known, aborted, or died before they had ability to choose will make up the bulk of the population of that place!!

Adam had three sons we know by name-Cain, Abel, and Seth.  Cain killed Abel, but that was not his sin, Cain’s sin was the sin of will worship.  Abel died never having known sin (Jesus calls him “righteous Abel” in a covenant where one sin would have made this statement impossible).  Since Abel died without sin, his soul and spirit would have had to have gone to Paradise where God’s fellowship would continue. Isaiah 59:1-2    Something is wrong!!  Abel was a son of Adam, Abel would have had to have sin if all men inherit their sins from Adam!!  Adam’s soul and spirit did not go to Paradise in the third heaven, just like David could not join his son, David prophesying that Christ would die so we who are in His Church “the gates of Hades will not prevent” after death!! Matthew 16:18   IF infants who are never born have sin, how is this explained?? do they in the resurrection accrue a new body if an old body, they never possessed?   Would you please explain the “new birth” to me??

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 12

As you know by now, Adam is labeled as the “father of sin” label by the religions of our day, but God labeled Satan as that father!  It is just as possible for Satan to beget a human body, physically as it is possible for men to beget spirits and souls!  Does like not beget like?  Satan was the originator of sin and sin had already been committed in this world, justice had been administered, and the angels who had sinned were “cast down them down to Hell.” 2 Peter 2:4, before man got here.  IF all sin comes from the first father, as denominationalism teaches, all sinners would have to have inherited their sin from Satan and not Adam!!  “You are of your father, the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44  From reading this verse, would you not think that somebody confused Satan and Adam?

Can man who never participated in sin, be a sinner?  Can one become what they ARE NOT??  does one BECOME a Christian BEFORE their sins are washed away??  Do you not have to BECOME before you can BE??  Can one who had sin by inheritance, never having committed a sin by choice on his own, be held liable for what he did not do?  Does that principle work in ANY realm of reasoning??  Is God not a God of JUSTICE??  If God, whom were are told predestined all men, sent His Son to die for those already predestined to eternal life with Him, does CHRIST DEATH make sense to anybody??  Did God send His Son for loves sake?  Would you consider God very wise if He had sent Christ to die for those who were ALREADY eternally condemned because of His Will or ALREADY saved?  “Know unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world.” Acts 15:18   How can one be saved IF he could have never been lost, just predestined??  Is it not true that man has to OBEY a Spirit Being in order to either be lost or saved??  What did Jesus mean when He said; “I came to seek and save that which was lost??.” Luke 19:10   Does it make sense to you that God would send Christ as a sacrifice to save what had ALREADY been predetermined, SAVED?  Should we not change the word from saved to safe if man was predestined one or the other??   Answer:  If the innocent have no voice, vote, or choice being “born in sin,” Christ did not tell the truth when He said “I came to seek and save that which was lost,” He should have said He came to seek and find they who were predestined!! Question: Was  Christ, Himself, a liar, a sinner??  Was Christ a predestined sinner??  Can a Sinner die for a sinner?   What is it we are being asked to believe when we are told children are born sinners??  Is man that DUMB??   Answer:  Do you see how false doctrine can destroy “the” faith of God?

Another argument by the erudite is as follows.  Did creation get away from God, get out of His control, and God have to come up with a plan B, which was Christ as a sacrifice?  Did God foreknow His plan yet find Himself CHANGING that plan?  If God had not foreknown, was not strong enough to bring about His plan, did the Devil not really throw a wrench into God’s plan and cause God to REACT instead of ACT??  Was that the reason Christ came??  What does Romans 9:13 mean: “Jacob have I loved, Esau have I hated.” Read the verse in context.   “For the children being not yet born neither having done any good or evil that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of Him that calls—Is there unrighteousness with God?  God forbid.” Romans 9:13-15  Was the statement made in Hebrews 12:17 about Esau, when he sought repentance “with tears, but found none,” a statement of the original predisposition of God??  Answer: God “looks on the inside” and knows with whom He shares a kindred spirit 1 Samuel 16:7 .Esau, unlike Jacob, did not have “the mind of Christ’!!  The same thing is expressed when God dealt with the Jew as a nation.  “All day long have I stretched forth My hand to a disobedient and a gainsaying people” God says of the Jew.  They had NOT the faith of their father Abraham.  God put up with Israel for 1500 years, divorced her, and married “those like unto Himself.” Ephesians 5:26-31; Genesis 2:19-24, the Church of Christ!!  “We are the children of God BY FAITH,” Galatians 3:26,  Hebrews 11:6-10; Galatians 4:21-31  “Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!  For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? (Romans 11:29-36), for of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things: to whom be glory, forever.”

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 11

The only thing man “fathers” is that of which is his KIND.  Man cannot produce a soul and spirit.  This comes by cooperation from the Creator in respecting His law.  Man has TWO fathers, the father of spirits, Hebrews 12:9; Zechariah 12:1; Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the father of flesh, where we get our likeness of ancestry, DNA, and personality.  The soul sins AFTER it is incarnate, not before.  It is as impossible for the soul to sin in the womb as it is to sin after it is born until it becomes accountable!! “The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.” Psalms 58:3   The word for “go astray” is the Hebrew word ta.aw and means to reel or stray; also wander; vacillate; deceive; make to err.  None of this is possible without the CHOICE God gives man.

When discussing this with those who deny the existence of God they often offer their philosophy and rationality in propositions as: “Is man, put on the waves of a sea called life, unable to support or defend himself when he is even given NO chance,  fails to swim (obey God’s perfectly), judged as damned because he disobeys the Law of God (which he has already been predisposed to disobey), “misses the mark,” said to then serve a “just” God?  Who put man in such a position as to be totally depraved (unable to do any good which will reward him) when man can not control the sea, its waves, or shore on which he must, without ability to control, land?  Has that man, who has never heard of God or His mercy called grace, be damned to eternal Hell if he (even though he never has heard God’s message) obeys a false message of man and God, condemn him for obeying the WRONG commands?  If there is a God, is He where no intelligence exist?  Can a tree fall in a forest where no human life exist and the sound of that fall be heard?  What about foreknowledge—even if man is predestined as eternally saved or lost—what difference will it make since the “die has already been cast” and there is nothing one could do to change the verdict?  Is this God so narrow-minded as to believe that ALL men can understand and believe the same doctrine exactly alike and if not, condemn the one who trusted the “faith” of his parents and grandparents, be lost?

All forget that man was put on this planet by a “loving” God, not some Being bent on getting joy out of destroying most of what He made!!  The very first thing God is on record of doing is giving man His Law!  It was not a difficult Law, in fact, it was very simple: “do not eat of the fruit of the tree of good and evil.”  What God also put in man was something not often mentioned-a conscience, soul.  Every human being has in him an instinct-conscience-desire to be moral, unchallenged until he can choose.  This “law of the conscience” later called a “natural” law was guide to every man.  “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the Law, these, having not the Law, are a Law unto themselves.” Romans 2:14  Nine of the ten commandments given by Moses from Mt. Sinai were the Laws all mankind had lived by ever since Adam.   It is not “natural” for a child to steal, lie, kill, hate, or seek to destroy.  They have to LEARN how to do these things-”going astray as soon as they be born,” from their surroundings.  Instinct is in all other animals—NONE of them sin-why just man and angels?  The difference is our ability to CHOSE between what is right and what is wrong.  Eve was blind-sided, Adam was not, Adam KNEW he was choosing between God and Eve-he made the wrong choice!!  They will chide: “For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17  Yes, but what proves too much proves too little-death reigned AS, WHEN, BECAUSE man CHOSE to sin, was not made, was not born with sin-just born with the propensity to sin, Adam had shown Satan our “Achilles Heel.”  If there were human beings who were never sinners the argument may reach another level, BUT THERE WERE!!  We can tell who never sinned by the trajectory of their souls at death—the safe went UP while the sinning soul went DOWN to the sides of the pit!!  In this “pit” were two compartments,  Paradise and Tartarus.  Paradise was for those who later were washed in the blood of Christ and united with they who had NEVER sinned, either because of the length of life, inability to chose, or NEVER disobeying the Law of God.  Jesus, Enoch, and Elijah were men who lived on this Earth, reached the age of accountability, yet NEVER disobeyed the Law under which they lived.  I did not put Christ in this  group, Christ was/is God and God cannot sin!!

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 10

Adam was created in two parts-he was physically made from the “dust of the Earth” then Christ “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and he became a living soul.”  Many have questioned whether or not the soul is breathed afresh in every man from God or is it transmitted through our physical parentage, or can man who is physical produce that which is like God, spiritual?  If scientist every “clone” a duplication of the human body that survives something like birth, will it have a soul and spirit??

We know the body does nothing in and of itself without direction.  The great discourse in Romans 7:14-25 is without question the most revealing about man that inspiration has given us.  Does Paul tell us the body SINS, or can it sin when it has no soul or spirit?  When the soul and spirit move out in death, can the body that remains, SIN??  We know that the physical body will one day be replaced with a spiritual body for the faithful, 1 Corinthians 15, Romans 8:11.  If the soul is the only part of our anatomy that can sin, and the soul/spirit came from God, is sin God’s fault, not Adam’s??

I have been through classes that try to “make God look bad” for the purposes of teaching that there is no nature called God!!  I will give you some of their propositions so if you ever hear them, you will be ready to help them!!  God made man, it was an impossible association.   He put too much power (a soul and spirit) in clay.  The body and spirit are so diametrically opposed to each other that mankind was predestined to fail before he got started.  God predestinated certain “special ones” to be eternally lost and some to be eternally saved.  Would God be a just God if He only saved those He inflicted or caused to sin that He knew He was going to save??  Did God ever intend to save any of the rest of mankind who had to sin, not predestined to eternal life??  Has there ever been a man or woman that lived on this Earth that DID NOT SIN??  Is it true that God could be considered just yet He placed such a vast evil as eternal damnation on the soul of man that sins??  If God made a mistake of putting the soul, spirit, and body together and they just DO NOT go together is He just for condemning when the results are not his own making??

Here are some answers you might want to read.  What CAUSED man to sin, God or violation of a law given man by God??  Did God MAKE man violate His law or did He give man a thing called CHOICE??  Has God ever given any other thing He created CHOICE??  Oh, angels, you say?  Did angels sin?  Were they predestinated?  From whom did the angels who sinned inherit their sin?  I know—Adam, right!!  Who sinned first, angels or Adam?  How do you explain that if sin is inherited from the procreation of Adam, the angels who sinned before Adam sinned were in existence BEFORE Adam??

This thing called law, choice, and sin, when overlooked, makes it look a little bad on which being, God, the creator or Adam, the created?  Just because some do not like God’s rules does not give them the right to leave out ½ of the story!!  When God gave Adam the world to rule, a beautiful wife, and a simple command to obey that was greater than the “law of the conscience”-do you think it too much for God to demand man “obey that Law,” especially when the choice was made, man chose someone other than God??  By the fact Adam chose Eve instead of God, do you consider God unjust, mad, or a spoiled sport??  The death of Christ, who is equal to God in every way, justified God’s claim on the judgment of man.  Who made the choice?? man made the choice??  When the proper choice is made does it not also justify God in rewarding the obedient??   Romans 3:23-26   Did that professor “grade” your test?  How was your score??

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 9

Like begets like, this is the rule of inspiration as mentioned in the first chapter of Genesis.  Man was created by Christ both physically and spiritually.  He was separated into Adam and Eve because Adam was lonely.  God had commanded Adam to “multiply and replenish the Earth.”  This Adam did by only one woman, Eve.  She was his one wife and but one!  After man had sinned, Christ revealed to both Adam and Eve WHY procreation changed.  Because of the part Eve had in the sin of Adam, she was told that her child birth would produce pain: “Unto the woman God said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” Genesis 3:16   That was the ONLY change in procreation.  Many confuse the fact that mankind has two fathers in birth; the physical and spiritual.  Again, like produces like.  Our physical likeness comes from our physical fathers and mothers while our spiritual likeness comes from our spiritual Father, Christ. Hebrews 12:9   Again, like begets like.  Since our physical body comes from Adam (that all believe, I guess), our spiritual likeness comes from Christ.  This being true, how could Adam have passed something he had nothing to do with??  The change in child birth was pain NOT man supplying the spiritual part of our nature!!   “The burden of the word of the Lord forIsrael, says the Lord, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.” Zechariah 12:1  “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7   “Thou hidest Thy face, they are troubled: Thou takest way their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth Thy spirit, they are created (this is the Hebrew word “bara”- to create something out of nothing).” Psalms 104:29-30   “For in Thee (Christ) is the fountain (source) of life: in Thy light shall we see light.” Psalm 36:9   “To whom hast Thou uttered words?  And whose spirit came from Thee?” Job 26:4   “In Him was/is/had been life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:4  I think that should sufficiently prove the point!!

Since man does not pro-generate our soul and spirit and the only part of our anatomy that can sin is the soul, just how did Adam have anything to do with propagating sin, since the only thing he brings to the birth process is his physical likeness which cannot sin??  Why blame Adam with the propagation of sin, original or un-original!!  The mind of man is not the origination of sin!!  “Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.  Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.” James 1:14-15   When buried in the grave after death (I hope they bury and not cremate!) the mind remains in that buried body while the soul-spirit goes back to God who gave it.”  There is something in man far more than flesh, it is his soul and spirit; that soul and spirit never cease to be, they are like the eternal Father who pro-generated them, Christ!  That that is within the nature called human is what I call the “I” that is within you.

The soul sins AFTER incarnation!!  Was it not in existence by plan as well as the body?  The body was dieing before sin, this is a part of what God planned, and the body did not die as a result of sin, that was the soul. Ezekiel 18:20, 4.  If the soul was never in the human body, could the body have sinned??  The physical body was never to be eternal!!

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 8

There are many times man has reached too high for his own good.  He has delved into situations that are too high and beyond his abilities to grasp.  “Such knowledge it too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” Psalms 139:6   It is also true that “the secret things belong to God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us…” Deuteronomy 29:29  The doctrine of “inborn sin” is such a travesty.

Before it was pointed out it was known that “like begets like.”  This is shown repeatedly in the first chapter of Genesis.  “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the Earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:25   If this had been understood by Augustine, who lived and wrote in the early part of the 4th century, we would not have been cursed with this heresy!!

When God “breathed into his nostrils the breathe of life,” Adam became-what he had not been before, “a living soul.”  The same God that created the Heavens and the Earth had on this note made (asah in Hebrew-to make something after what had already existed) MAN.   What God, the Holy Spirit, used in communicating this to Moses was language man could comprehend, not what was in reality an existent fact.  You see, God is a Spirit, spirits are apart of a complexity that is apart but not necessarily the same thing as a soul.  Spirits in short, have not bodies, spirits do not possess the bodily function of breathing.  God is said to have eyes, hands, breathe, ears and many other parts of man’s anatomy only to express to mankind what in man’s language he can understand. “For after that in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness (infantile) of preaching to save them that believe.”

What came from God was of God.  The ‘breathe of life’ had been used to describe other animals in Genesis 1.  Without breathe man cannot live.  Breathe is not of man, from man; it became a personification of life, it later was used as a personification of the Holy Spirit. John 20:22  By the way, get some of our modern day Atheist to make a little air—put man in a complete vacuum and cause him to live without a little “breathing stuff”!!  What came from God was the soul and spirit part of our make-up.  If made form God, it is not God; it is merely His part in the greatest creation God ever made called MAN!  Mankind has two fathers, Hebrews 12:6-9, “the father of spirits and the father of flesh.”  One can tell which part is of God by seeing which part last the longest!!  This is called birth.   When man hears the “breathing” of the message of God, as given by the Holy Spirit, this part is from God, called Faith.  When faith is obeyed, this is called believed and is baptized man is said to be “born again.” John 3:3-5, 1 Peter 1:18-23

The part of our anatomy that is of man is the body.  The body has within it the mind.  The mind is not the spirit or soul of man, it cannot create, intend, or obey; it is simply a sending and receiving unit.  When man dies, the soul and spirit leave and go back to God-they are from God and are eternal-the body goes back to dust.  As a house, the body has only a short time, if we are Christians, we get a new one!!   As the poets wrote:

Tell me not in mournful numbers      Death; I will have the last word of this argument.

Life is but an empty dream                when you are chanting a requiem over my grave

Life is real! Life is earnest!                I’m singing an exultant hymn.  When you think

And the grave is not its goal.              I’m under the sod, I will be with God.

Dust thou art to dust returnest            the husk alone is thine; the kernel is divine!!

Was not written of the soul.

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 7

Man, like Adam, sins by choice.  It is easier to see the difference in the error in judgment of Adam than that of ourselves, but we all make the same mistake.  What would have happened if Adam had chosen to stay in fellowship with God and not Chosen Eve?  That Adam “counted the cost” before he so readily (it seemed a split second decision) chose Eve, is not known, but we all have made maddening decisions and we did not consider nor did we understand the ramifications of our decision.  What seems so “right” at the start sometimes works out so “wrong.”  Count the cost!!

Would you or I have made the decision Adam made?  We have, if we are older than the age of accountability!!  It is interesting to me that everybody jumps on Adam as the most disreputable man to have ever lived and never themselves in him.

Who was the first, Adam or Eve? Genesis 5:1-2   Adam was complete and needed nothing before the separation of Eve (there are two separate Hebrew words that describe the creation of Adam and the creation of Eve)?  Were they lonely or ALONE??  What did God declare not good (as God ordained)? Genesis 2:17   It was the plan of God before time to bring the Churchof Christinto existence and this plan demanded pro-creation.  Adam needed a helper.  The “sleep” of death shows us THE WAY God determined later in Christ!!  Did not Eve come from the side of Adam?  Did not the Churchof Christcome from the side of Christ?? John 19:34   Before separation God sent Adam into the created animal kingdom to find himself a mate.  “There was NONE like unto man.”  Bestiality (sexual activity with lower animals) was never an option with God!! Genesis 2:18   Some say there are members of the body of Christ in denominationalism, how is that possible since they have never KNOWN Christ??  Was not Christ “in the world, and the world “knew” Him not.” John 1:10.  (Adam “knew” Eve and they had Cain and Abel)   Did not Christ come into this world (creation) among man to spiritually marry the Churchof Christ? Ephesians 5:25   How many wives did Adam have??  How many does Christ have??  What are the other churches that exist, are they not from the “beast of the field”??  They had to be by someone other than Christ!!  They are not married to somebody, they just “join” their churches, and they take on a name that describes to whom they “joined”!!  When a woman is married she wears her husband’s last name, when she procreates like other animals she just changes partners??  Christ and the Church are married!! Romans 7:4   Shacking up (joining) is like animals!!

Some of our brethren worry about capitalizing the word “church” on letterheads or signs—is not the Church, Assembly, House something special?  WasIsrael ever spelled with a small i?, Hebrews 3:2-6), how about Mrs.??   Is not the Mrs. usually capitalized in English??  Does not her name describe a relationship??

Adam was created as a two beings in one-the same thing that is always mentioned about Christ.  He is the son of God and the son of Man, the lamb and the lion, the servant and master of all, the root of David and the word of God, the author and finisher and I could keep going on.  Was Adam the subject of temptation or was it the “weaker” creation that Satan deceived??  Eve was the azer connecto, the Ebenezer, the stone of help made by Christ to carry out the plan of the Father in pro-creation.  Is this not the role of the Church of Christ??  When she told Adam what to do, did it not end up in tragedy??  I am trying to point out very clearly that Adam chose Eve over God!  Let us make sure we do not do the same!!  We cannot “choose” another “church of our choice” that we can “join” and think we belong to the Bride of Christ!!

What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 6

It is evident that Adam did something!  No, he did not bring physical death into the human race.  No, he did not sin and make all his children thereafter, sinners, inheriting sin from him.  No, he did not keep the Garden of Eden as his permanent home.  No, as far as the record goes, he did not eat of the tree of Life.  No, he did not keep his first twin sons at peace with each other.  Finally, no, he did stand strong against the wiles of his beautiful wife after he thought he had lost her to Satan.

The question often comes to mind.  Did Eve sin?  The apostle Paul speaks about this event in the history of mankind in 1 Timothy 2:10-15.  “For Adam was first formed, then Eve.  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression: Notwithstanding, woman shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.”  What is “in the transgression” mean?  The NIV translation of the Bible cannot help but add a little commentary every once and a while that is not warranted.  It is not, therefore, a completely safe translation.  There are many places it makes mistakes on purpose, if you read their purpose for translating.  Do we have another topic that sounds an accord to the sin of Adam?  Are all women as a whole cursed, sinners-born a sinner, because of Eve’s deception?  If not, why not??  Adam was led to sin by his equal; Eve was deceived by a Satan in the body of a snake, something quite inferior to Eve both in nature and appointment by God.  The one time woman taught man, she was wrong.  Adam did not see the tree of knowledge of good and evil as good for food, it was Eve.  It is not “Eve being deceived,” it is “woman being deceived.”  It is the “woman” that shall be saved by childbearing-guiding the house, not Adam, yet is man who is charged with “training them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4   Man and woman were equal but because of the “ease of deception” woman retains her position, place as follows the order of creation.  In Greek it reads; “but woman, having been deceived in transgression has become.”  She was mislead to error and stayed in her place, not becoming the head.

Eve, as they say, “bought the boat.”  She was completely taken in by Satan, she was the leader in the error that became Adam’s separation from the fellowship of God, but Adam, himself was not deceived!

Adam knowingly, intentionally made a decision to retain Eve in fellowship rather than the Almighty!  It was a brutal decision on his part.  Paul earlier writes: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: ….nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is a figure of Him that was to come.” Romans 5:12-14   Adam’s sin was by CHOICE, not deception.  There are many reasons Adams ever since have made such a foolish decision (thousands I am sure thought about thousands of times) but all Adams, lacked the confidence in God that was made known at the sacrifice of Isaac.  Adam lacked faith!!  “For I was alive without the law, once: but when the commandment came, sin became alive, and I died.” Romans 7:9   Innocence was replaced by command, command made us make a choice; we all chose poorly-the reasons are endless, the results, the same.

God is still kind to mankind.  The error of Eve is innocence, not choice.  All of us commit our first sin without intention.  Satan still has the advantage.  God offered “woman” the same opportunity as He offers us except now He has offered His Son, not the son of Abraham!
